I’ve been working at SMH since the merger with Haywood’s in 2019 having been at Haywood’s since leaving school at the age of 16. It was nice to see the change of structure and way of working after the merger happened. Since being a part of SMH my role has changed a lot from basic accounts preparation work to now dealing with a portfolio of clients and reviewing other members off staff’s work. There are so many opportunities to progress and move up the ladder while improving knowledge and skill, this is mainly based off the support provided by SMH for both study and on the job training.
There is a real sense of community throughout the office from trainees all the way up to managers which gives me a sense of relief knowing if I ever need help both on a work matter or a personal matter there is someone to talk to that will provide the help needed. This ties in well to the company value of caring as it proves this isn’t just aimed at the clients it aimed towards us as staff too.
