Buxton accountancy practice BullockWoodburn, have merged with South Yorkshire and Derbyshire based Chartered Accountants Sutton McGrath Hartley, enabling the firm to offer an increased level of service to its clients.
With the merger taking place earlier in 2018, the Buxton office has now re-branded as SMH BullockWoodburn and is well placed for future growth, tapping into the full range of business and personal financial services offered by the SMH group.
James Hartley, Managing Partner of Sutton McGrath Hartley comments: “The merger is a fantastic opportunity for both firms to grow to the next level as part of the same group. With established offices in Sheffield, Chesterfield and Rotherham, merging with a firm in Buxton was the next logical step for SMH to help us develop a presence in the High Peak region.
“Clients will now benefit from a complete range of services that they haven’t been able to access before, including our personal financial services, such as pension & investment advice, and assistance with wills & probate and Inheritance tax planning – all of which can now be accessed via our Buxton office.
“The merger is a positive move forward for everyone, not only does it give clients access to additional services all under one-roof, but it gives them long term security that their business and personal financial affairs will be looked by the most highly skilled, specialist staff possible. We are looking forward to developing a positive presence in the region.”
Karen Woodburn, Managing Partner of Bullock Woodburn concludes: “As part of my plan for a phased retirement over the next 5 years, the merger reassures the future of the office to both clients and staff, and introduces a fantastic range of new services for our clients.
“The Buxton office will continue as it has done since I took over in May, 2000. The current staff will still be on hand to provide their usual services to our clients, however they will now have access to a wider range of services meaning clients won’t have to consult other professionals for personal financial services such as wealth management and estate planning. I am confident the merger will be of benefit to all our clients.”
To coincide with the merger, Sutton McGrath Hartley have also re-branded with the addition of even more financial advisory services leading a completely new look for the firm. Their new website can be accessed via smh.group.
