What will you be doing in the role?
You will be an important part of member of the audit and assurance team within SMH Group. Working closely with the directors and fieldwork teams, you will manage a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring a high quality audit is delivered to clients in a timely and efficient manner. You will be part of our wider strategy for growth, with opportunities for business development and tendering for new work, and to contribute to our service line development. You will be a leader within our audit team, providing guidance and management to our fieldwork teams.
The role will provide a clear progression path to Audit Director and beyond with a variety of opportunities in a growing Group.
Job Purpose:
- Manage a growing portfolio of audit clients is various sectors, including:
- Delivering high quality audit assignments to a timely and efficient manner to the directors.
- Ensure all audits comply with regulatory and professional standards.
- Working with the directors and audit senior, plan audits, assess risks, and develop audit programs tailored to each client.
- Owning client relationships, supporting existing clients and new clients, to provide excellent client care.
- Taking responsibility for managing budgets, billing and recoveries to deliver targets.
- Coaching juniors and providing constructive feedback on the quality of their work and performance to promote best practice.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of audit processes and quality.
- Lead tendering for prospective clients.

Skills and Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
- Previous audit management experience
- Client facing experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Experience of audit software (MyWorkpapers experience would be ideal
What qualifications do you need?
3+ years ACA, ACCA qualified with a strong background in practice (7+ years UK practice experience)
