Harrogate Business Lunch
Staff from the SMH Group, including the founders of the event, Howard and Tanya Matthews, attended the Harrogate Business Lunch Club. The Lunch Club is a networking event held three times a year and attended by over 500 people. The most recent event took place on Friday, 9th May, with guest speaker Miles Jupp. Keep an eye out for our upcoming blog to find out more about the event.
SMH Sheards charity curry night
We’re proud to share that our Huddersfield office, SMH Sheards, raised a brilliant £682.65 at our recent charity curry night in support of Andy’s Man Club!
Thank you to everyone who came along to the event, donated raffle prizes and bought tickets.
Business of Sheffield Day
A few members of staff had a great day out at the ‘Business of Sheffield Day’ watching the World Senior Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre!
The day started with a business breakfast at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sheffield and was followed by an interesting talk from Tom Hunt, leader of the Sheffield City Council. After that, there was a talk with 1985 snooker world champion, Dennis Taylor in which he shared various anecdotes from his playing career.
The day finished at the Crucible Theatre for the afternoon session of snooker where legends Jimmy White and Ken Doherty were among those in action.
Mental Health Awareness week
SMH Group were proud to support Mental Health Awareness Week.
This year’s theme was Community, and at SMH Group we’re taking steps to build stronger connections across all our offices.
Throughout the week, we created dedicated spaces at lunchtime for our teams to come together and to enjoy a slice of cake, share a story, or just enjoy a moment to chat and unwind.

We had a great evening at Lane 7 with CMP Legal! It turns out accountants and lawyers might not be natural bowlers, but we are highly competitive!

We were bowled over by another fantastic Business Innings Networking event from Sheffield Collegiate Cricket Club at Abbeydale Sports Club!
A few members of the SMH Group team joined local businesses and club members at Sheffield Collegiate Cricket Club for great food, great company, and front-row views of Yorkshire CCC 2nd XI taking on Derbyshire CCC 2nd XI, not your average lunch!
