About the Role
Salary: £23,500 – £28,000 (DOE)

We are a growing accountancy practice supporting a wide portfolio of limited company clients across a range of sectors. We are looking for an experienced and organised bookkeeper to take responsibility for the day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts preparation for a client portfolio.
This role is ideal for someone currently working in practice, or an individual working in industry who prepares management accounts and is now looking for more variety by working with multiple clients.
You will have exposure to a varied and interesting client base, with opportunities to grow your responsibilities and progress within the practice.

What will you be doing in the role?
- Bookkeeping for a range of clients (mainly on Xero & QuickBooks)
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns (including complex VAT queries and partial exemption where applicable)
- Monthly and quarterly management accounts preparation
- Posting journals (prepayments, accruals, wages, depreciation, adjustments)
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Reviewing client records and correcting errors where needed
- Requesting information from clients and managing deadlines
- Working with the wider team to support year-end accounts
About You
- Experience in an accountancy practice or in-house finance role with responsibility for month-end and management accounts
- Confident preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping principles and journals
- Comfortable managing multiple client deadlines
- Good communicator who can build positive client relationships
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Experience working with Xero and QuickBooks (Dext/Hubdoc beneficial)
- Ideally have an accounting qualification – AAT or Institute of Bookkeepers
