SMH Haywoods, the Rotherham office of Yorkshire and Derbyshire professional service firm SMH Group, has appointed Ryan Byrne as Senior Client Manager, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience across audit, tax, advisory, and forensic accounting.
Ryan joined SMH Haywoods in December 2025 and will play a key role in supporting clients while contributing to the continued growth of Haywoods and the wider SMH Group.
Ryan began his career in accountancy in 2004 through an apprenticeship with a local Doncaster firm, where he completed his AAT studies. In 2006, he moved to a larger accountancy firm, progressing through the firm while completing his ACCA qualification and achieving his practising certificate. He spent nearly 17 years with the business, becoming a partner and director in 2018.
During his time there, Ryan worked with a diverse client base across a broad range of services including audit, accounts, tax, research and development claims, and forensic accounting. His experience even included acting as an expert witness on an international fraud case, which involved travelling to the United States!
