Liam Ripley ACA

Liam qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 2020, before joining SMH the same year. Following several years working at SMH Sutton McGrath Hartley in Sheffield, Liam took some time off to go travelling in 2024, before returning to SMH Reed Smith in Barnsley in 2025 where he now works as a manager.
He has prior experience in audit, but now concentrates mainly on accountancy and tax matters with owner managed-businesses and individuals, as well as dealing with more complex tax matters such as setting up tax-advantaged share schemes. His favourite work is around tax planning and process improvement, and is always looking to make clients lives easier by putting efficient processes in place, often through the use of the latest software packages.
