CrossFit Rotherham is gearing up for an incredible fundraising challenge to support a family in need. 18-month-old Lake is suffering from a rare brain tumour and severe epilepsy, and his family is trying to raise money for his life-saving operation, which is likely to be outside of the UK.
Hannah Berridge, Legal Executive at SMH Wills & Probate, is one of the CrossFit Rotherham members participating in the challenge.
Hannah comments: “I am honoured to be a part of this amazing fundraising event to help Lake and his family. It’s inspiring to see our community come together to support a great cause. I am excited to take on the challenge and push my limits to raise as much money as possible.”
SMH Group, a local firm of Chartered Accountants, Financial and Legal Advisers, is sponsoring a number of the challenges, and the CrossFit Rotherham community extends their heartfelt gratitude for their contribution.
CrossFit is a form of high-intensity training, which consists of a combination of Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, gymnastics, and HIIT cardio. The members will take it in turns to complete the workouts on the hour, every hour, for 24 hours, in teams of three or four. Some workouts will require individuals to work on their own, while others will be done in pairs or as a team. The final workout, called MURPH, will be completed by everyone together.
The 24-hour challenge will take place on 4th & 5th of March, with about 20 members completing 24 WODs (Workout of the Day) to raise money for Lake’s treatment. Hannah and CrossFit Rotherham invites everyone to donate to support this important cause.
